How to Repair a Broken Lamp Socket

I’m sure that at some point, you have knocked a lamp of a table and broken it. Recently, my 2 1/2 year old did exactly that. He of course, being the little helper that he is, wanted to turn on the lamp for his momma. Of course he knocked it off the table, and broke the threaded area of the socket.

I don’t know if you know this about me yet, but I’m cheap… sorta. My wife was all set to go and buy a new lamp, but I knew that I could fix it for a mere $5 or so. Off to amazon I went to find the new socket. If I can fix something rather than buy a new replacement, I will. In this video I am going to show you how to fix the lamp my son broke.

it took me about 15 minutes, and it was good as new when I was finished. It was relatively painless and only cost a few dollars to repair.
